Dr. Bernd Kasparek

Bernd Kasparek is a cultural anthropologist and mathematician. His research interests are border and migration studies, Europeanisation and (digital) infrastructures.
In his dissertation, he has written an ethnography of the European border agency Frontex. Between 2017 and 2020 he worked in the Horizon2020 funded research project “RESPOND. Multi-level governance of mass migration in Europe and beyond”.
He is a member of the editorial border of the journal movements, member of the network for critical migration and border regime studies kritnet and board member of the research association bordermonitoring.eu.
