Profile

  

Dr Solvejg Wolfers-Pommerenke is an applied linguist who conducted her PhD in Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick in England. The topic of her thesis was the discursive negotiation of team cohesion among members of a professional football team from Germany.

Since January 2023 Solvejg is a postdoctoral research associate at BIM working in the project “Racism in elite sports” (“Rassismus im Spitzensport”). Previously, she worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Institute of English Studies at Leuphana University of Lüneburg. Apart from her academic work, Solvejg works for the NGO KickIn!, where she, among other things, delivers workshops on discrimination-sensitive language in football.
