Wie Prof. Regina Römhild meldet, wird das neu gestaltete Erdgeschoss im Gebäude des Instituts für Europäische Ethnologie und des BIM eingeweiht und heißt jetzt: Collective Ground Floor Amo Salon. Ab 17 Uhr gibt es Inputs, Performances, Musik, Getränke, Imbiss. Gute Gelegenheit für ein Wiederzusehen oder um sich kennenzulernen.

Özvatan mit Sinanoğlu im Berliner Abgeordnetenhaus und auf Vortragsreise zum Thema Fußball
Özgür Özvatan war mit Dr. Cihan Sinanoğlu im Berliner Abgeordnetenhaus von der Grünen-Fraktion
eingeladen – zu einem Gespräch über die Türkeiwahl und transnationale Wahlpräferenzen. Und am Samstag war Özvatan in Koblenz und hielt dort einen
Impulsvortrag zum Thema „Fußballdeutschland Postmigrantisch?“ beim Dialogforum Integration 2.0 des Fußballverband Rheinland.
Özgür Özvatan was invited to the Berlin House of Representatives with Dr Cihan Sinanoğlu by the Green Party parliamentary group – for a discussion on the Turkish election and transnational voting preferences. And on Saturday, Özvatan was in Koblenz and gave a keynote speech on the topic "Football Germany Postmigrant?" at the Integration 2.0 dialogue forum of the Rhineland Football Association.

Prof. Ulrike Kluge bei Anhörung im Bundestag zum Thema „Sprachmittlung im Gesundheitssystem"
Am 24.5. nahm Prof. Ulrike Kluge als Expertin an der Öffentlichen Anhörung im Bundestag im Ausschuss
für Gesundheit zum Thema „Sprachmittlung im Gesundheitssystem" teil. Dies geht auf das von Ulrike
Kluge und ihrem Team initiierte „Bundesweite Bündnis für Sprachmittlung im Gesundheitswesen“
zurück. Dessen Ziel ist die Aufnahme von Sprachmittlung in den Leistungskatalog der Gesetzlichen
Krankenkassen (GKV). Im Positionspapier des Bündnisses werden konkrete Forderungenund Maßnahmen
aufgelistet – die Ausklammerung von Sprachmittlungsleistungen wird als Form von struktureller
Diskriminierung und Rassismus bewertet.
On 24, May, Prof. Ulrike Kluge took part as an expert in the public hearing in the Bundestag in the committee
for Health on the topic of "Language mediation in the health system". This goes back to the "Nationwide
Alliance for Language Mediation in the health system" initiated by Ulrike Kluge and her team. Its aim is to
include language mediation in the catalogue of services provided by the statutory health insurance funds.
The alliance's position paper lists concrete demands and measures – the exclusion of language mediation
services is regarded as a form of structural discrimination and racism.

Konferenz zum fünfjährigen Bestehen des DeZIM
Nicht nur wird das BIM dieses Jahr zehn Jahre jung, auch das DeZIM feiert, und zwar sein auch nun schon fünfjähriges
Bestehen. Aus diesem Anlass veranstaltet unser Partner-Institut am 27. und 28. September 2023 eine Konferenz in Berlin
mit dem Titel „Such great need – so little time?! Social research on postmigrant societies in times of multiple crises”.

im Kontext des einst am BIM angesiedelten PLUS-Projekts. Titel: „Towards ‘bogus employment?’ The contradictory outcomes of ride-hailing
regulation in Berlin, Lisbon and Paris” – Plattformarbeit im Ride-Hailing-Sektor ist fast ausschließlich migrantische Arbeit.
Last week Valentin Niebler and colleagues published a paper on the paradoxes of regulating platform work, in the context of the
PLUS project once based at BIM. Title: "Towards 'bogus employment?' The contradictory outcomes of ride-hailing regulation
in Berlin, Lisbon and Paris" – platform work in the ride-hailing sector is almost exclusively migrant work.

Stellungnahme des IAB zur Einwanderung von Fachkräften
Es bewegt sich was – die Einwanderung von Fachkräften soll nach den Plänen der Bundesregierung
erleichtert werden, Forscher*innen des IAB, darunter Herbert Brücker, nehmen zum „Entwurf einer Verordnung
zur Weiterentwicklung der Fachkräfteeinwanderung” Stellung.
Things are moving – the German government plans to make it easier for skilled workers to immigrate
in the future. IAB researchers, among them Herbert Brücker, comment on the „Draft Ordinance on the
