Profile
Simon Ruhnke has been a research associate at BIM since February 2021 and research coordinator
of the TRANSMIT research network since January 2022.
He previously completed his PhD in the Economics Department of the University of Utah on the health
of undocumented migrants using machine learning and was also a research associate at the University
of Utah's Health Economics Core.
As a quantitative social researcher, his research focuses on the health and health care
of migrants and the determinants of migration aspirations and resulting selection effects.
