Profile
Anna Wiegand has been a research associate at the Berlin Institute for Empirical Integration and Migration Research (BIM) at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin since December 2019. There, she is working on the BMBF-funded project "From Urban Redevelopment Focus to Immigration Quarter? New Perspectives for Peripheral Large Housing Estates" (StadtumMig).
She studied Sociology (B.A.) at the University of Bremen, Sociology – European Society (M.A.) at the Free University of Berlin and at the Universidad de Valencia.
After her studies, she worked for several years for members of the German Bundestag in the field of social policy, where she conducted an online survey on experiences with public authorities when applying for benefits.
Her research interests include social inequality, migration and urban development, and racism and discrimination.
